What Is a Catastrophic Injury?
Video Description
A catastrophic injury is an injury that is typically far more severe than you would get in a standard car crash case and can even amount to death, dismemberment, paraplegia, or things like that. It’s not just your run-of-the-mill car crash, for lack of a better term, where there are some that can cause back pain, and you end up recovering from it. The last thing that we take into consideration is how it affects your life. So, does it stop you from being able to do your daily activities in a meaningful way? Does it, you know, is your injury something that requires you to have special equipment in your house, for instance, when you have to shower, clean, or do laundry, or things like that? And in a legal context, what that means is typically the cases are a lot more complex for us. The defendant is usually much more vigorous, and they require a lot of expert testimony and expert discovery.
